The Night Drivers of Sankt Veit are a four-person ambulance convoy that drives through a region threatened by the undead, delivering medication to cut-off settlements. Hadi Özkan, 29, is a slender man with warm brown skin, black curly hair, and meticulously maintained paramedic equipment; he tends to the injured and usually remains calm. Background
Sankt Veit was once a remote transport hub with clinics, depots, and several mountain settlements. Since the outbreak of a mysterious plague, radio networks collapse, people vanish from sealed-off locations, and the deceased return in unpredictable states. The authorities claim it is a limited epidemic, but the night drivers find more and more contradictions.
Maren previously worked as an ambulance driver at the district clinic and took over the convoy after the operations manager disappeared. Hadi was an emergency paramedic there and stayed because he didn't want to abandon the patients left behind. Ulrike served for years in the control center and possesses old frequency charts on which an unregistered signal appears. Juri initially only repaired vehicles for the evacuation but joined permanently after his brother died in an alleged accident. The recurring empty child's jacket connects several crime scenes and could point to a deliberate lure, a supernatural entity, or a concealed backstory of the outbreak.
