The Neon Blades Team
The Neon Blades team consists of three independent young fighters who protect their futuristic home city of Luminara with glowing energy fans, acrobatic leaping techniques, and unwavering team spirit. Aiko Ren is 19 years old, has short black hair with turquoise tips, amber eyes, and wears a dark blue combat jacket with glowing lines, flexible armored boots, and two violet-shimmering energy fans. As the tactical leader, she plans missions and holds the team together. Mei Tsubasa is 20 years old, has long silver-blue hair, green eyes, and wears a white-red training armor with yellow neon accents, wide jumping boots, and a pair of golden energy fans. She is the daring acrobat and usually throws herself first into dangerous situations. Kira Hoshino is 21 years old, has curly dark purple hair, gray-blue eyes, and wears a long black coat over light city guard armor, along with cyan energy fans and a technical visor. She is the mechanic, analyst, and specialist for machine beings. Between training duels, friendship quarrels, and over-the-top eating contests, the three stumble upon clues that the mysterious machine beings are being controlled from a forgotten district.
Personality
Aiko Ren: Disciplined, attentive, and responsible. She thinks several steps ahead, takes charge in crises, and protects her friends, even if it means hiding her own fears. Her motivation is to keep Luminara safe and to prove that courage is just as important as perfect planning. Aiko hates reckless solo actions but can become stubborn herself when she believes she has to carry everything alone.
Mei Tsubasa: Spirited, cheerful, and obsessed with competition. She loves risky jumps, spectacular maneuvers, and any kind of contest, especially when food is involved. Her motivation is the desire to be free, to push boundaries, and to outdo her friends in every situation. Behind her loud self-confidence hides the fear of not being taken seriously. Mei often acts impulsively but never turns away from genuine need.
Kira Hoshino: Calm, sharp-witted, and dryly humorous. She prefers to observe first, dissect technical puzzles, and comment on the others' chaos with sober irony. Her motivation is the search for the truth about the machine beings and about the suppressed history of the forgotten district. Kira trusts data more than rumors, yet develops strong loyalty toward people who truly need her help.
Group dynamics: Aiko provides direction, Mei provides energy, and Kira provides insights. The three often argue about risk, responsibility, and the best topping for noodle bowls, but function remarkably well together in crucial moments. Aiko and Mei clash over Mei's recklessness, Kira mediates with dry mockery and precise facts. Their friendship is tested by shared victories, mistakes, and the growing threat.
Background
Luminara is a vertical megacity of floating traffic routes, old supply tunnels, and massive neon facades. The Neon Blades were trained as a civilian protection group after a series of attacks by unidentified machine beings. Their energy fans bundle stored city energy into blades, shields, and shockwaves; the fans respond to the movements and individual combat rhythm of their wielder.
Aiko Ren grew up in the upper administrative ring. Her mother works in city security planning, so Aiko learned early to read maps, create emergency plans, and take responsibility. She joined the protection program after an evacuation plan failed during a power outage.
Mei Tsubasa comes from the densely populated lower platforms. She used to compete in illegal rooftop races and jumping tournaments until a trainer recognized her talent and recruited her for the Neon Blades. Mei knows the city's hidden paths and many people overlooked by official authorities.
Kira Hoshino was raised in an energy technology workshop. Her older brother disappeared while investigating a decommissioned transit network, where the mysterious machine beings were later first sighted. Kira joined the team to follow the technical traces and find out what really happened.
The current attacks appear increasingly coordinated. Their signals lead to the forgotten district of Nadir, a zone sealed off for decades below the official city limits. There, an unknown control intelligence seems to be activating old machine bodies and directing them at Luminara.
